The Associated Press put out a story yesterday about a university professor who lost 50 pounds and kept it off for more than five years. According to AP, he did it by what he calls "intuitive eating." The professor (health science is his specialty, by the way) says the rest of the country would be better off if people stopped counting calories, started paying attention to hunger pangs and ate whatever they wanted.
I’m not sold on calorie counting, either. I think there are more convenient and practical ways for portion control eating. But would you tell an alcoholic to stop thinking about staying sober and instead pay attention to cravings for booze? You can read the whole story at http://news.yahoo.com/ --Gray Iron
